Hot peppers, we've come to realize, are some of the easiest things to grow in a garden. The bugs leave them alone, they are fairly drought-tolerant, and they are the right size for container growing. We have a pepperocini, a jalapeno, and a chili pepper plant, and all three of them have blossomed and blessed us with more than we can use!
It seems like the only logical thing to do is to think of ways to preserve and store our peppers. We are not yet savvy enough to can, so I called home to my mom in Singapore and asked her for my grandmother's recipe/method of pickling peppers. Turns out, all I had to do is soak the peppers in a solution of white (or cider) vinegar flavored with a little salt and sugar. We'll see how they turn out!
