Are you familiar with
ArtPrize? Zach and I first heard about it when we were in Holland, Michigan in 2010. ArtPrize, the world's largest art competition, has been around since 2009. Any artist, of any medium, from any country, can compete for the top prize of $250,000. This year, there are 1517 entries in 161 venues, covering 3 square miles in Grand Rapids, MI. We're lucky to live less than 4 hours away from Grand Rapids, and to have found a hotel room for a decent price, so we're leaving today to go check out some art! We'll only be there for a day and a half, so I wonder how much we're going to be able to see and do! Hope you'll keep up with our journey on the blog ...
In the meantime, here are the winners from the past couple of years ...

2011 winner: Crucifixion by Mia Tavonatti |

2010 winner: Calvary, American Officers 1921, by Chris LaPorte |
