a friend asked me to make a painting for her brother who loves to ride and lives in sonoma valley. immediately i went back to my sketchbook from the trip to san francisco and sonoma valley i took with mindy and her parents a few years ago.
the things that i enjoyed most were the giant redwood trees and the rolling hills and valleys covered in various vineyards. and i loved the low golden glow of the light in the late afternoon.
the sketchbook brought all that back.
