{Five for Friday} 5 Teas to Try

(picture from tumblr.com)

Fact: I love tea to the point I hardly drink water anymore. Teas are much better and so much tastier. Plus there's always a right tea for the time of the day. A caffeinated choice for the morning, an energizing cup for the afternoon, teas that help with digestion after a meal, and a calming tea just before bedtime. Yums. Here are 5 teas to try:

Lemongrass , Dried Orange Peel, and Ginger
This tea is great for after a heavy meal or when you want something light and refreshing. The lemongrass, dried orange peel, and ginger warm your belly and lifts your spirit. It is also caffeine-free, so you can drink it late at night if you need something soothing before bedtime.

Genmaicha
We all know the goodness of green tea. But if you are not a fan, or if you want to try some green tea with a twist (as opposed to flavored green teas), you need to get some genmaicha. It has an irresistible smoky flavor that comes from the combination of green tea with roasted brown rice.

Rooibos (green rooibos, honeybush)
I'm lumping the green (or red) rooibos and honeybush together because they have similar taste profiles. These tasty teas are caffeine-free, full of antioxidants, and are sweet on their own. You can add cream and sugar if you like, but it's really not necessary.

And have you tried a rooibos latte? It's delicious too.

Pu'erh with Chrysanthemum
Pu'erh is fermented black tea. There are 2 types of Pu'erh you can buy --ripe, or raw. Some people have commented that Pu'erh is an acquired taste. Try both to see which one you prefer. And if you're worried you might not like it, adding chrysanthemum buds will add a subtle flowery tone that helps to balance out the "dirty" taste of the Pu'erh.

Rose Petals with Raisins
In traditional Chinese medicine, rose petals are known to have various healing properties. This tea has a subtle sweet and tart taste, and it is so easy to drink. In addition, rose can help calm your spirit, and enhance your beauty, and raisins help promote better metabolism.

Hope you have a heartwarming Valentine's Day!
