Last year, Zach carved a whole series of Christmas linocuts and we got ourselves in a little tizzy trying to print everything. This year, with the mutual decision to start off the holiday season with our sanity intact, we agreed to pare it down to just one three-color linocut image.
the principle block ... a puppy staring at a wintery scene outside the window |
the first print |
laying down the night sky with some scattered snowflakes |
some red ribbons for the curtains |
and finally, a choice of text blocks for the inside of the card |
We are taking these cards to Artists' Own next week. But if you prefer to purchase them online, we're also listing them on Etsy later tonight!
p.s. It seems to me the new Etsy policy that allows sellers to outsource their designs and work with manufacturers has ruffled a few feathers. Etsy is adamant that this move maintains the handmade spirit that the company has always stood for but there a whole group of sellers that disagree and buyers who are cautious and disheartened. We just wanted to say that Zach and I work as a team to design and produce every item we sell in our store!
